¡Hola mis amores! Hoy les escribo sobre uno de mis accesorios favoritos: ¡los lentes de sol! Si vas a usarlos todos los días, es prioridad encontrar el modelo ideal. En un mundo ideal tendría cien pares de diferentes colores, formas y estilos para adaptarlos mis diferentes looks, pero en la realidad, la mayoría de los lentes no son tan accesibles por lo que lo mejor es tener uno o dos pares que vayan perfecto contigo. Esto es en lo que yo me fijo antes de comprar un par: 

Hi my loves! Today I'm writing about one of my favorite accessories: sunglasses! If you are going to use them every day, it is a priority to find the ideal model. In a perfect world I would have a hundred pairs of different colors, shapes and styles, but in reality most sunglasses are not so accessible so it is best to have one or two pairs that go perfectly with you. This is what I consider before buying a pair:

Si tuviéramos que pensar en un tejido que sea 100% atemporal, el denim sería lo primero que vendría a nuestras mentes. Y es que evoluciona, se adapta, se transforma, se reinventa… pero nunca desaparece.

Es uno de los colores más fuertes de la paleta, y siempre llama la atención. Como más me gusta usarlo es con accesorios y piezas que son del mismo tono para así lograr conjuntos impecables para usar tanto en la playa como en la ciudad o en la nieve.

Is one of the strongest colors of the palette, and always attracts attention. How I like to use it is with accessories and pieces that are the same tone to achieve impeccable looks to use both on the beach and in the city or in the snow.

Estos son dos de mis colores favoritos, especialmente amo usar negro a la hora de vestir. Son simples pero al mismo tiempo extra sofisticados y perfectos para usarse sin importar la ocasión, la hora o el día de la semana.

El final perfecto sin duda son los accesorios en blanco. Botines, botas, bolsas en este tono son mis mayores aliados y se convertirán en los tuyos.

Los looks vistos en los Grammys 2018 que definitivamente usaría

¡Hola mis amores! Estoy 100% convencida de que la moda es para divertirse. Los Grammys son una de las ocasiones perfectas en las que las famosas pueden vestirse de forma desenfadada pero elegante al mismo tiempo. De todos los looks vistos en la alfombra roja de anoche, existen cuatro que definitivamente usaría en un evento especial.

I'm 100% convinced that fashion is for fun. The Grammys are one of the perfect occasions in which the famous can dress in a casual but elegant at the same time. Of all the looks seen on the red carpet last night, there are four that I would definitely use in a special event.

Una de mis cantantes favoritas eligió un diseño nude de Gucci con pedrería con forma de estrellas, a juego con este accesorio que se convirtió en uno de mis elementos favoritos de la noche. Lana del Rey se unió al movimiento #TimesUp llevando una rosa blanca a modo de pulsera.

One of my favorite singers chose a Gucci dress with star shaped stones and this accessory that became one of my favorite elements of the night. Lana del Rey joined the #TimesUp movement wearing a white rose as a bracelet.

Amé la transformación de Miley Cyrus y el mono de Jean Paul Gaultier que escogió para la gala. ¿Por qué llevaba una rosa? Para transmitir el mensaje del #MeToo, que lucha contra el abuso y el acoso sexual. Durante la gala, la cantante cambió este diseño por un vestido de princesa firmado por Zac Posen.

I loved the style transformation of Miley Cyrus and the Jean Paul Gaultier monkey that she chose for the gala. Why was he wearing a rose? ¡Bonito sábado mis amores! Por si no lo sabían, Zara es una de las tiendas que más me gustan porque cada vez que voy encuentro nuevas propuestas en diseño y accesorios. Estoy convencida de que aquí puedes encontrar cosas increíbles sin tener que gastar tanto. Además, siempre está buscando innovar y darle un giro a la industria de la moda. I'm convinced that here you can find incredible things without having to spend too much. In addition, they're always looking forward and they're always innovating. Esta semana, la firma española inauguró su primera tienda física en la que se podrán hacer y recibir pedidos online en Londres. El espacio originalmente está pensado para suplir la ausencia de su tienda normal mientras la remodelan pero este podría ser el comienzo de una nueva era si hablamos de ir de shopping. ¿Se imaginan un lugar en el que puedes ver y probar sólo algunas prendas pero NO comprar en ese momento?

This week, the brand opened its first store where you can make and receive orders online in London. The space was originally designed to replace the absence of a normal store while remodeling it but this could be the beginning of a new era if we talk about going shopping. Can you imagine a place where you can see and try only some clothes but NOT buy them at that time?

La mini modelo que me robó el corazón en ‘Fashion Week Haute Couture’

¡Feliz viernes mis amores! Ya que terminó la Semana de Alta Costura en París, puedo decirles que sin duda la modelo que protagonizó esta edición es ella.

¡Hola mis amores! Hoy me gustaría que juntos analicemos la nueva propuesta de Chanel. El desfile de Alta Costura de la firma francesa definitivamente ya es el nuevo favorito para todos aquellos que aman el brillo y las lentejuelas como yo. Primero que nada, hablemos del lugar que eligió Karl Lagerfeld para la pasarela. El Grand Palais de París se transformó en un clásico jardín francés con una fuente en medio, senderos, pérgolas, enredaderas y flores. En este escenario me imagino perfectamente a Gabrielle Chanel pensando cómo sería su próxima colección…

The haute couture show of the brand is definitely the new favorite for all those who love sequins and tweed like me. First of all, let's talk about the place that Karl Lagerfeld chose for the runway. The Grand Palais in Paris was transformed into a classic French garden with a fountain in the middle, paths, pergolas, vines and flowers. In this scenario I imagine perfectly Gabrielle Chanel thinking what her next collection would be like ...

Imposible no hablar también de Kaia Gerber quien además de ser musa e imagen de la maison, es una de las modelos más top del momento. Usando un vestido de tweed, plumas y pedrería adornado por un tocado con flores en la cabeza y maquillaje en tonos pastel, la hija de Cindy Crawford hizo su debut en las pasarelas de haute couture.

It is important to also talk about Kaia Gerber who besides being the muse and image of the maison, is one of the top models of the moment. Wearing tweed, feathers and a flowers on the head with a makeup look in pastel shades, the daughter of Cindy Crawford made her debut in Fashion Week Haute Couture.

La pasarela comenzó como lo hace habitualmente: con piezas de siluetas rectas compuestas por faldas y chamarras de tweed, tejido que además vimos hasta en los botines en tonos rosa, coral, limón, menta, gris y beige. El icónico traje cambia de color mientras que se incorpora una manga de kimono, hombros redondeados y dos bolsillos. Este nuevo diseño es llamado por Karl Lagerfeld "la nueva actitud” por su fuerza y arácter.

The show began as usual: with pieces of straight silhouettes composed of skirts and tweed jackets, fabric that we also saw in the booties in shades of pink, coral, lemon, mint, gray and beige. The iconic suit changes color while incorporating a kimono sleeve, rounded shoulders and two pockets. This new design is called by Karl Lagerfeld "the new attitude" for its strength and character.

Cuero o tul bordado fueron otros materiales que la firma francesa usó en sus botines –mismos que me fascinaron gracias a lo versátiles que son… ¡Se pueden usar con todo! Entre todos estos tejidos y adornos lo que más llamó la atención es la presencia de mucho brillo, lentejuela y pedrería. A la mitad del desfile, las prendas subieron de tono al igual que los colores vistos en ellas como el negro, plata brillante, morado, verde, fucsia y azul eléctrico.

Embroidered leather or tulle were other materials that the french firm used in its boots. Among all these fabrics and ornaments what most caught the attention is the presence of a lot of sparkle, and sequins. In the middle of the runway we started to see bold colors like black, silver, purple, green, fuchsia and electric blue.

The Spring-Summer #CHANELHauteCouture collection showcases sculptural silhouettes, featuring embroidery work on tulle with beads, stones and feathers by the 31, rue Cambon ateliers.

Por último, las modelos llevaron coronas florales en la cabeza y velos de tul, mientras que en todas las prendas se encontraban elementos icónicos de la marca como camelias (¡mis favoritas!), pensamientos, claveles y amapolas.

Finally, the models wore floral on the head and tulle veils, while on all the garments were iconic elements of the brand such as camellias (my favorites!), carnations and poppies.

La historia detrás de la pasarela surrealista de Dior Alta Costura en París

¡Hola mis amores! Ya comenzó la Semana de Alta Costura y qué mejor manera hacerlo que con el desfile de Dior. Las paredes de la amplia carpa en el jardín del Museo Rodin de París estaban envueltas en muselina, con los pliegues pegados en una estructura sobre un suelo de tablero blanco y negro. Enormes esculturas blancas de diferentes partes del cuerpo –como orejas, ojos y torsos– colgaban del techo para transmitir la inspiración surrealista detrás de la colección de Maria Grazia Chiuri para la maison. 

Hi my loves! The Fashion Week Haute Couture  has already begun and what better way to do it than with the Dior runway. The walls of the large tent in the garden of the Musee Rodin in Paris were wrapped in muslin, with the folds stuck in a structure on a black and white board floor. Enormous white sculptures from different parts of the body (like ears, eyes and torsos) hung from the ceiling to convey the surrealist inspiration behind Maria Grazia Chiuri's collection.

Antes de dedicarse a la costura, Christian Dior era un galerista y seguidor de este movimiento artístico que en ese entonces, estaba en sus mejores años. El diseñador fue el primero en organizarle una exposición a la artista surrealista argentina Leonor Fini, una de las primeras mujeres artistas que además de ser muy moderna era poco convencional. Inspirada en esta mujer, Chiuri se aleja de lo que nos había mostrado hasta el momento. Los tonos cobre dan paso al binomio blanco-negro y la ausencia de estampados a la unión de grafismos.

Before being in the fashion industry Christian Dior was a gallerist and follower of this artistic movement that at that time, in his best years. He was the first to organize an exhibition of Argentine surrealist artist Leonor Fini, one of the first female artists, very modern and unconventional. Inspired by this woman, Chiuri moves away from what she had shown us so far. The copper tones give way to the black-white binomial and the absence of prints to the union of graphics.

Desde máscaras con efecto tridimensional, siluetas estampadas en piezas de tul, vestidos convertidos en auténticas obras de arte o trajes ultra femeninos, la firma francesa presentó una colección en la que la seda, el tul, la gasa y las piedras transparentes, fueron los elementos principales. ¡Es mi sueño usar uno de estos diseños!

From masks with three-dimensional effect, silhouettes printed in tulle dresses, pieces turned into authentic works of art or ultra feminine costumes, the French firm presented a collection in which silk, tulle and transparent stones, were the main elements. It's my dream to use one of these designs!

Con respecto a los beauty looks, el Director de Creación e Imagen, Peter Philips redefinió el concepto de las pestañas XXL. El make-up artist usó un delineador grueso con pigmento para dibujar las líneas de las pestañas superiores e inferiores.

If we talk about beauty,  the Director of Creation and Image, Peter Philips redefined the concept of XXL tabs. The make-up artist used a thick eyeliner with high pigment to draw the lines of the upper and lower lashes.

Mis looks favoritos de los SAG Awards 2018

¡Hola mis amores! En plena temporada de premiaciones y después de ver los Golden Globes llegan los Screen Actors Awards con nuevos vestidos, estilos y looks de belleza. Lo que más me gusta de esta época son las alfombras rojas y ver las elecciones de cada una de las actrices. En esta premiación, las mujeres fueron las protagonistas ya que las 13 estatuillas de la ceremonia fueron entregadas por el género femenino y la presentadora de la gala fue Kristen Bell. Estos son mis looks favoritos vistos en la red carpet.

Hi my loves! It's  awards season and after the Golden Globes come the Screen Actors Awards with new dresses, styles and beauty looks. What I like the most about this time are the red carpets and the choices of each of the actresses. In the SAG Awards, women were the main character. Estudié la carrera de diseño textil y moda en la universidad. Presenté mi primera colección en la Semana de la Moda de Mercedes Benz en México hace unos años, y como me encantaba hacer mis propios vestidos para los eventos que tenía, comencé a trabajar en algunos proyectos para otros amigos. Hace tiempo le puse pausa a este proyecto, pero ahora creo que estoy lista para retomarlo. Como bien saben, una de mis mayores pasiones además de armar looks es diseñarlos. Desde que empiezas a dibujar sobre un papel, hasta que llevas tus creaciones a una pasarela o están listos para tomar vida, la sensación de ver tus propias prendas y accesorios en alguien más, no tiene precio. 

CREATE MY CLOTHING BRAND

Just in case you didn't know, I went for a major in fashion and textile design at college. I presented my first collection at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Mexico a few years ago, and as I loved to make my own dresses for the events I had, I started working on some projects for other friends. Some time ago I put pause to this project but now I think I'm ready to take it up again. As you know, one of my biggest passions besides wearing clothes is creating them. Since you start drawing on paper until you take your creations to the runway or to the store, the feeling of seeing your own clothes and accessories on someone else, is priceless.

Disfruto al máximo viajar y conocer lugares nuevos pero también extraño mucho estar con mi familia. ¡Feliz fin de semana mis amores! En pleno invierno y gracias a la llegada de la temporada de esquí, Jackson Hole y Vail son dos de los lugares escogidos por todos aquellos que además de disfrutar de la aventura que representa esquiar, son amantes de la buena comida y de los exclusivos hoteles. Hoy les voy a platicar sobre estos destinos que definitivamente ya son de mis favoritos y que tuve la oportunidad de visitar con Pau Zurita y Fer Medina.

In the middle of winter and the ski season, Jackson Hole and Vail are two of the places chosen by all those who besides enjoying the adventure that represents skiing, are lovers of good food and exclusive hotels. Today I will talk about these destinations that are definitely two of my favorites and that I had the opportunity to visit with Pau Zurita and Fer Medina.

El primer lugar que conocimos fue Jackson Hole, que ha conservado ese encanto que se puede perder a medida que las ciudades de esquí son populares. Si miras desde lo alto, primero te sorprenderás por las montañas que te rodean y segundo, por el sello de un pueblo modesto y pintoresco. Es ahí donde está su atractivo. A pesar de que este pueblito tiene los hoteles más exclusivos como el Four Seasons y restaurantes de alta cocina, también se pueden ver construcciones antiguas de madera que combinan a la perfección para lograr su encanto único. Así que si estás buscando una escapada o la oportunidad de conocer alguna reserva natural para ver alces y saber más sobre la vida silvestre, este lugar es para ti.

The first place we visited was Jackson Hole, which has that genuine charm that can be lost as ski cities explode in popularity. If you look from above, you will first be surprised by the mountains that surround you and second, by the seal of a modest and picturesque town. Although this town has the most exclusive hotels such as the Four Seasons and the best cuisine restaurants, you can also see old wooden constructions that combine perfectly to achieve the charm of this small town. So if you are looking for a getaway or the opportunity to see some natural reserve to see moose and learn more about the wildlife, this place is for you.

Hablando del hotel Four Seasons Jackson Hole, me fascinó la vista que tiene del Grand Teton, la segunda montaña más alta de Wyoming. Desde desayunar ahí hasta tomar un chocolate caliente o pasar una tarde con mis amigas, cada rincón de este complejo ofrece la combinación perfecta de aventura rústica y alojamiento de lujo.

Speaking of the Four Seasons Jackson Hole, I was fascinated by the view you have of the Grand Teton, the second highest mountain in Wyoming. From having breakfast there to drinking hot chocolate or spending an afternoon with my friends, every corner of this complex offers the perfect combination of rustic adventure and luxury accommodation.

Después de unos días esquiando y conociendo este increíble spot, tomamos un avión de NetJets para ir a Vail. ¡No saben qué divertida experiencia! Si hay una cosa de la que estoy segura es que amo viajar y más si es con mis amigas. Disfruté al máximo caminar por el pueblo y comer cosas deliciosas. Otra cosa que me encantó fue el tour que hicimos con Winterhawk Dogsled Adventures y sus perritos huskies y pasar un sábado consintiéndome en el spa del Four Seasons Vail. ¡Uno de los mejores viajes del 2018! Y continuará… 

After a few days skiing and knowing this incredible spot, we took a plane from NetJets to go to Vail. What a great experience! If there is one thing that I am sure of, it is that I love to travel and more if it is with my friends. I enjoyed walking in the town and eating delicious things. Another thing I loved was the tour we did with Winterhawk Dogsled Adventures and their husky puppies and spending a Saturday indulging in the Four Seasons Vail spa. One of the best trips of 2018! And to be continued...

CHANEL

Las ya clásicas “ces” mayúsculas cruzadas de una de mis marcas favoritas que es Chanel, vienen de las iniciales del nombre de su fundadora: Coco Chanel. Con este símbolo, Gabrielle –quien era una auténtica rebelde–, marcó el inició de los accesorios atemporales y de la liberación de la mujer.

The emblematic letters of one of my favorite brands that is Chanel, come from the initials of the name of its founder: Coco Chanel. With this symbol, Gabrielle marked the beginning of timeless accessories and the liberation of women.

YVES SAINT LAURENT

Yves Saint Laurent fundó su marca homónima en 1961 y creó el símbolo con sus iniciales pensado en la mujer vanguardista.

Yves Saint Laurent founded his homonymous brand in 1961 and created the symbol with his initials thought of the avant-garde woman.

LOUIS VUITTON

En 1896, George Vuitton decidió crear un homenaje para su papá Louis y creó el logotipo que siempre ha estado acompañado de varios dibujos florales geométricos. Con ellos, el francés estampó las maletas que diseñaba. Años después, este símbolo se transformó gracias a la nueva filosofía de Nicolas Ghesquière.

In 1896, George Vuitton decided to create a tribute for his father Louis with the logo matched by several geometric floral drawings with which he stamped the suitcases he designed. Years later, this symbol was transformed thanks to the new philosophy of Nicolas Ghesquière.

TIFFANY & CO. 

El distintivo color azul de la marca fue seleccionado por Charles Lewis Tiffany para el Blue Book que era el catálogo de la casa de joyería en 1845. El día de hoy, Tiffany & Co. tiene la patente de este tono y lo usa tanto para sus campañas publicitarias como para sus empaques.

The distinctive blue color of the brand was selected by Charles Lewis Tiffany for the Blue Book that was the catalogue in 1845. Today, Tiffany & Co. has the patent of this tone and uses it both for its advertising campaigns and for its packaging.

GUCCI

Inspirándose de las iniciales de su nombre, Guccio Gucci abrió en 1920 una tienda en Florencia especializada en el trato artesanal del cuero. Para firmar sus piezas, el florentino usó estas letras que el día de hoy podemos ver solas o en conjunto con diferentes símbolos en todos los accesorios.

Inspired by the initials of his name, in 1920 Guccio Gucci opened a store in Florence specializing in the artisanal leather treatment. To sign his pieces, the Florentine used these letters that today we can see with different symbols in all their accessories.

BURBERRY

La marca inglesa es reconocida por su logotipo de un caballo ecuestre que significa “hacia adelante”. Desde su creación, este es el lema de la empresa que siempre busca ver hacia el futuro.

The brand is recognized by its logo of an equestrian horse that means "forward". Since its inception, this is the motto of the company that always seeks to see into the future.

FENDI

En 1970 Karl Lagerfeld eligió las palabras “fur fur” como sinónimo de la palabra abrigo. Años después, Fendi marcó esas piezas con la doble efe que también incluyó en sus bolsas, zapatos y cinturones.

HERMÈS

En sus orígenes, los productos de esta marca estaban pensados para el mundo de la equitación por lo que el caballo también es importante en el logo de Hermès.

The products of this brand were designed for those who practiced horse riding so the horse is also important in the Hermès logo.
