MBFWmx: Mis desfiles favoritos

¡Hola, mis amores! Esta semana he andado en CDMX por el Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, y al igual que en NY, London y Milán y París, les tengo un recap de mis desfiles favoritos. Espero poder inspirarlos un poco a probar nuevas tendencias, pero sobre todo, a apoyar a los diseñadores mexicanos y latinoamericanos.

Hello, my loves! This past week I was in Mexico City at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and as well as NYC, London, Milan and Paris I made for you a recap of my favorite runway shows. I hope this inspires you to try new trends but most of all, to support Mexican and Latinamerican designers.

Benito Santos

Arrancando la semana, Benito Santos presentó su colección inspirada en la época dorada del cine mexicano. Lo que más me gustó es que predomina la combinación blanco y negro. Las transparencias y los flecos son una tendencia fuerte de primavera verano del próximo año.

Starting the week Benito Santos presented a collection inspired in the golden age of Mexican cinema. What I liked the most was the black and white combination. Some other strong trends were see-through fabrics and fringes.

Alexia Ulibarri

Me encantó la propuesta de esta temporada porque está llena de brillos, colores neon, glitter y estampados. Mis favoritos fueron los looks monocromáticos que por cierto, son tendencia para PV. Otra trend que Alexia presenta y que también estuvimos viendo en otros fashion week alrededor del mundo son los estampados tropicales.

I loved this proposal because is full of sparkle, neon colors, glitter and prints. My favorite looks were the monochromatic ones. Another trend that Alexia presented was the tropical prints for SS2019.

¡Este fue uno de mis favoritos! Empezando por la sede del desfile que fue en el periódico El Universal. La tendencia más fuerte es la color block en colores como amarillo, azul rey y naranjas. ¡Todo lo amé!

This was one of my favorites! The color blocking was one of the most powerful trends, colors like blue, yellow and orange. I loved it!

Julia y Renata

¡Tienen que ver estos aretes! Las prendas holgadas también predominaron esta pasarela junto con prendas asimétricas y muchísimo volumen. Otra tendencia en esta colección: los looks monocromáticos.

You had to see those earrings! The loose clothes also dominated this collection along with asymmetrical and voluminous clothes. Once again: monochromatic looks.

Armando Takeda

Este desfile en el Castillo de Chapultepec, destacó colores pasteles brillantes y prendas cómodas con distintas formas que le dan mucho movimiento a tu outfit. Por ejemplo los flecos o faldas asimétricas y, sobre todo, los parches.

This show took place at the the Chapultepec Castle and it was all about bright pastels and some of clothes had different shaped to them to give the outfits lots of movement. Such as fringes or asymmetric skirts and even patches.

Daniela Villa

La colección estuvo inspirada en Pedro Friedeberg, diseñador de México de origen italiano, conocido por su trabajo surrealista, está llena de dorado y aplicaciones en los vestidos, faldas y shorts asimétricos y amplios. Los colores principales fueron beige, negro, blanco, naranja, azul marino y nude. Lo más destacado: ¡sombreros!

This collection was inspired in Pedro Friedeberg, Italian designer from Mexico, known because of his surreal work. It is full of gold and asymmetric forms in skirts and shorts. The main colors were beige, black, white, orange, navy blue and nude. Highlight: hats!

Todos los looks que usé en Fashion Week

¡Hola mis amores! Oficialmente esta semana termina Fashion Week y por eso me encantó hacerles este recap sobre la mayoría de los looks que elegí en cada una de las capitales de la moda. Si pudiera escoger una tendencia en particular, diría que las prendas extremadamente abrigadoras y prácticas dominaron el street style.

Hi my loves! Officially this week Fashion Week ends and for this I would like to make a recap on all the looks I used in each of the fashion capitals. If I could choose a particular trend, I would say that extremely warm and practical clothes conquered street style.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Fue el primer acercamiento a lo nuevo en las colecciones prêt-à-porter. Con cambios que van desde las colecciones combinadas para hombres y mujeres, hasta los formatos de pasarelas alternativas, el verdadero desafío fue vestirse cool para el clima frío y la nieve. Para los días que estuve en Nueva York usé conjuntos con diferentes texturas, tonos y gamas de color. 

It was the first approach to the new in prêt-à-porter collections. With changes ranging from combined collections for men and women, to alternative gateway formats, the real challenge was to dress cool for cold weather and snow. For the days I was in New York I picked looks with different textures, shades and color ranges.

MILAN FASHION WEEK

El layering fue lo más visto en Milán. Uno de los denominadores de estilo común fueron las bolsas chicas usadas sobre abrigos y a la cintura. Sobre los códigos de vestimenta, las combinaciones entre prendas deportivas y con diferentes estampados así como los tejidos en piel y botines de diferentes colores y materiales. 

The layering was the most seen trend in Milan. One of the denominators of common style were the small bags used on coats. About the dress codes, the combinations between sportswear and with different prints as well as the leather fabrics and booties of different colors and materials.

PARIS FASHION WEEK

El clima frío en París durante la Semana de la Moda me permitió usar mucha ropa de invierno. El street style que vi esta semana estuvo protagonizado por los textiles monocromáticos y por prendas vibrantes.

The cold weather in Paris during Fashion Week allowed me to wear a lot of winter clothes. The street style that I saw this week was led by monochromatic textiles and vibrant pieces.

#PFW: La colección con la que Dior celebra la libertad y el feminismo

¡Hola mis amores! Cada vez que tengo la oportunidad de venir a París, vuelvo a comprobar que es uno de mis lugares favoritos. Amo caminar por sus calles, disfrutar de sus cafés, ver la Torre Eiffel y comer en sus deliciosos restaurantes. La ciudad del amor es también la ciudad de la moda, de la revolución, del cambio y de la innovación y Dior nos lo recuerda en cada una de sus nuevas colecciones. A continuación, les platico un poco sobre esta nueva propuesta de la firma francesa y sobre el look que usé para la ocasión. 

Hi my loves! Every time I have the opportunity to come to Paris, I check again that it is one of my favorite places. I love walking through its streets, enjoying its cafes, seeing the Eiffel Tower and eating in its delicious restaurants. The city of love is also the city of fashion, revolution, change and innovation and Dior reminds us of each of its new collections. Keep reading to see a little about this new collection and about the look I used for the occasion.

LA COLECCIÓN

Para este Otoño – Invierno 2018/2019, Maria Grazia Chiuri, la directora artística de la maison, continúa con su manifiesto feminista en su primera colección de prêt-à-porter  inspirándose en el movimiento de liberación de la mujer en Francia, que comenzó en mayo de 1968. Por otro lado, la marca contrarresta abiertamente el retorno del uniforme, para regresar a lo que este significa en realidad: el individuo prima sobre las diferencias de género, y la igualdad de derechos y roles predomina sobre todas las cosas. 

THE COLLECTION
For this Fall - Winter 2018/2019, Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of the maison, continues with her feminist manifesto in her first prêt-à-porter collection inspired by the liberation movement of women in France, which began in May 1968. On the other hand, the brand openly counterbalances the return of the uniform, to bring us back to what it signi es: the individual taking precedence over gender differences, and the equality of rights and roles which remains the great conquest of that time.

La primera modelo que desfiló en el jardín del Museo Rodín de París usó una prenda con el lema — “C'est non, non, non et non!”— seguida por una una exhibición constante de peace and love, flower power y viejas pancartas del periódico feminista parisino La Voix des Femmes y portadas de números de revistas como Vogue, Harper's Bazaar o Elle publicadas a lo largo de aquel año. La escenografía indicaba que los grandes cambios políticos y la moda siempre han estado relacionados. 

The first model that walked in the garden of the Rodín Museum in Paris used a garment with the motto - "C'est non, non, non et non!" - followed by a constant display of peace and love, flower power and old banners of the Parisian feminist newspaper La Voix des Femmes and covers of numbers of magazines like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar or Elle published throughout that mythical year. The scenography indicated that major political changes and fashion have always gone hand in hand.

Me fascinaron las prendas en patchwork, los estampados esotéricos, las faldas de ballet y plisadas combinadas con chamarras con un toque masculino. ¡Amé todos los accesorios y detalles! 

I loved the patchwork garments, esoteric prints, ballet skirts and pleats combined with jackets with a masculine touch. I loved all the accessories!

EL LOOK QUE USÉ PARA IR AL DESFILE

Como hacía mucho frío en París, decidí combinar prendas de mezclilla con un poncho XXL y mini bolsa Lady Dior. Para completar el look, usé unos tacones slingback de charol negro y cinta J'Adior y una boina de piel negra. ¡Espero que les haya gustado! 

Because it was very cold in Paris, I decided to mix denim with a poncho and a Lady Dior mini bag. To complete the look, I wore black slingback heels with J'Adior ribbon and a black beret. I hope you liked it!

El desfile empezó con Gigi Hadid usando unos pantalones de cuero azul y un top crop que amé. La modelo es la embajadora mundial de la marca de ropa de mujer y en este nuevo capítulo busca explorar la velocidad y cómo esta se relaciona con el amor de Tommy por los coches, hasta cómo influye en su acelerado estilo de vida. En la pasarela también desfilaron Bella Hadid, Anwar Hadid, Lucky Blue Smith, Winnie Harlow y Hailey Baldwin.

The runway started with Gigi Hadid wearing blue leather pants and a crop top that I loved. The model is the global ambassador of the women's clothing brand and in this new chapter she seeks to explore the speed and how it relates to Tommy's love for cars, even how it influences his accelerated lifestyle. Also on the catwalk were Bella Hadid, Anwar Hadid, Lucky Blue Smith, Winnie Harlow and Hailey Baldwin.

#MFW Dolce & Gabbana cumple el sueño de toda adicta a las bolsas

¡Feliz lunes mis amores! Mi día de ayer estuvo increíble en Milán porque tuve la oportunidad de ir a la pasarela de Dolce & Gabbana, firma que sin duda es una de mis favoritas. Vestida con un look increíble de la marca, disfruté al máximo ver cómo iniciaba el desfile con bolsas volando en drones como una prueba más de que ya estamos viviendo en el futuro. 

Happy Monday my loves! My day yesterday was amazing in Milan because I had the opportunity to go Dolce & Gabbana's runway, a fashion brand that is undoubtedly one of my favorites. Dressed with an incredible look of the brand, I enjoyed to see how the show began with bags flying in drones as further proof that we are already living in the future.

Las bolsas

Aproximadamente siete drones volaron por la pasarela, cada uno con una bolsa de piel y joyas incrustadas de la última colección Otoño - Invierno 2018/19 de la marca. Minutos después de esto las modelos comenzaron lucir las nuevas prendas en "Secret & Diamonds", la pasarela en la que Domenico Dolce y Stefano Gabbana mostraron una propuesta ecléctica con muchos elementos que hacían referencia al periodo del barroco. 

Approximately seven drones flew down the runway, each with a leather bag and jewels inlaid from the brand's latest Fall-Winter 2018/19 collection. Minutes after this the models began to wear the new collection in "Secret & Diamonds", the runway in which Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana showed an eclectic proposal with many elements that made reference to the Baroque period.

#MFW: La colección de Ferragamo que marca un nuevo capítulo en la historia de la marca

¡Hola mis amores! Después de un largo viaje y de esperar mi maleta horas, por fin estoy al 100% en Milán lista para disfrutar de la Semana de la Moda en una de las ciudades italianas más icónicas. Mi primera parada fue el esperado desfile Otoño-Invierno 2018 de Salvatore Ferragamo, firma que decidió presentar por primera vez ambas colecciones al mismo tiempo.

Hello my loves! After a long journey and some difficulties on the way, I finally made it to Milan and ready to enjoy the Fashion week on one of the most iconic Italian cities ever. My first stop was Salvatore Ferragamo's Autome-Winter 2018 show, a brand that decided to present for the first time both collections at the same time.

En esta ocasión, Paul Andrew presentó su colección inaugural como director creativo encargado de la línea femenina y Guillaume Meilland de la masculina. El origen y motivación principal de las prendas fue en una fiesta que, después de durar horas, va mezclándose con el amanecer de un nuevo día. Lo que a mi me fascinó de esta línea fueron los colores y siluetas, entre los cuales destacan tonos neutros y vibrantes como beige, gris, azul oscuro, rojo, morado y verde.

On this occasion, Paul Andrew presented his inaugural collection as Creative Director in charge of the ladies line and Guillaume Meilland for gentlemen. The origin and main motivation of the garments was a party that, after lasting for hours, it starts to get mixed with the dawn of a new day.  What I really loved about this new collection were the colors and silhouettes, among which neutral and vibrant tones stand out, like beige, grey, dark blue, red, purple and green.

demás, las formas familiares como de algunos vestidos y abrigos, lograron una fusión perfecta al ser complementadas con pequeños toques de modernidad. Sin duda, la historia es una parte clave para que una colección trascienda y nosotros como espectadores podamos continuar el viaje de la mano de los diseñadores.

In addition, familiar forms such as in some dresses and coats, achieved a perfect fusion after being complemented with small touches of modernity. There is no doubt that the history is an essential part for a collection to transcend and we as spectators can continue the journey along with the designers.

La piel y telas finas como la seda son claves en las prendas para la próxima temporada de invierno. Ferragamo sugiere combinar los atuendos con botas a la altura de las rodillas o tacones anchos en colores llamativos, para lograr un look destacado de pies a cabeza.

Leather and some fabrics like cashmere and silk are key on the clothes for the next cold season. Ferragamo suggests mixing all those outfits with knee-high boots or block heels in bold colors to achieve an outstanding look from head to toes.

Without question, this new collection of the Italian firm has become one of my favorites and I certainly can't wait to see the rest of the surprises that await me during my stay in Milano.

Mis tendencias favoritas en zapatos vistas hasta el día de hoy en Fashion Week

¡Hola mis amores! Sin duda estamos en una de mis épocas favoritas ya que en las ciudades más icónicas como Nueva York, París, Londres y Milán se está llevando a cabo Fashion Week donde las casas de moda más importante presentan las próximas tendencias para Otoño-Invierno 2018. Las propuestas este año han sido variadas, pero una de las realmente me ha fascinado son los zapatos. Desde el clásico tacón rectangular, hasta diseños con el frente picudo y transparencias, a continuación les presento mis modelos favoritos.

Hello my loves! This is, with no doubt, one of my favorite seasons of the year because in some of the most iconic cities like New York, Paris, London and Milan, Fashion week is being celebrated where the most important brands present their trends for Fall-Winter 2018. This year's proposals have been varied, but one that really fascinated me is the shoe designs. From classic high heels to pointed front type and transparencies, up next I will shoe you my favorite models.

Colores llamativos

La colección de Delpozo estuvo llena de propuestas pero sin duda una de mis preferidas fue su forma de usar colores vivos en el calzado. La combinación de calcetas con toques brillantes y el frente puntiagudo dan una perspectiva retro a tu look.

Bright Colors

Delpozo's new collection is full of proposals but one of my favorites is the way he used vivid color on the shoes. The shiny socks with a pointy front combination will definitely give a retro touch to your look.

En la colección de Halpern x Christian Louboutin, el emblemático diseñador decidió darle un giro a su estilo clásico al mostrar unas botas ideales para el otoño pero llenas de texturas llamativas y patrones listos para conquistar la calle.

In the collection of Halpern x Christian Louboutin, the emblematic designer decided to give a twist to his classic style by showing ideal boots for autumn but full of striking textures and patterns ready to conquer the street.

Gamuza como sinónimo de elegancia

La gamuza vuelve a convertirse en protagonista de la próxima temporada de frío como pudimos verlo en el desfile de la icónica diseñadora Carolina Herrera, en el cual combinó botines con tacón de aguja en tonos fríos y hermosas texturas.

Velvet as en elegance synonym

Once again, velvet became the protagonist of the next cold season as we could see on Carolina Herrera's runway, where the iconic designer combines short boots and thin heels with cold colors and beautiful textures.

Encaje y transparencias

Alexander Wang deja claro que el encaje nunca va a pasar de moda y que también es posible lucirlo en la parte inferior de nuestro look al presentar una serie de tacones y botas con transparencias en negro, el toque ideal para lograr un estilo moderno  elegante.

Lace and transparencies

Alexander Wang made clear that lace is never going to be out of style and that is a good idea to wear it on the low part of our look by presenting a series of high heels and boots with black transparencies, the ideal touch for having a modern and elegant style.

 Combinaciones ganadoras

¿Por qué limitarse a un solo color cuando podemos usar dos? Eso lo demostró Bottega Veneta al presentar botas con tacón bajo pero, donde el toque especial, se encuentra en las combinaciones de tonos que logran dar un toque llamativo a tu look final.

Winning combinations

Why limiting ourselves to use one color when we can wear two? Bottega Veneta proved it by presenting boots with a special touch that can be found on the color combinations that give a striking touch to your final look.

Brillos y más brillos

Yo siempre he sido fan de los zapatos llamativos y en la nueva colección de Tom Ford pudimos ver que nunca los brillos nunca son suficientes, al presentar una serie de zapatos bajos pero con pequeños datalles de diamante que realmente te harán sentir como una princesa.

Glitters and more glitters

I have always been a big fan of flashy shoes and in Tom Ford's new collection we could see that glitters are never enough by presenting a series of low height shoes with delicate diamond details that will really make you feel like a princess.

Botas largas: un "must" en tu clóset

Long boots: a must in your closet

Even though fashion is different each year, an element that I think can never miss in your closet is a nice pair of long boots. No doubts it is one of the most feminine and accessories that always will give your silhouette a nice touch.

Tacones irregulares

Una de las características que más destacó en esta temporada fue romper con el tradicional tacón y oprtar por distintas figuras como el soporte del zapato. Prabal Gurung lo ejecutó perfectamente ya que combinó un diseño tradicional de bota con un tacón irregular, logrando darle el toque moderno perfecto.

Non-regular High heels

One of the characteristics that most showed off during this season was to break with the traditional heel design and choosing different figures for giving the right support. Prabal Gurung achieved it in a perfect way because he combined a traditional show design with an irregular heel, giving the perfect modern touch to the look.

La colección de Michael Kors fue una con la que mejor me sentí identificada, ya que uno de mis pares preferidos es botas de tacón fino pero altura media y con frente picudo, sin importar el color que sea, es esencial que tenga una de estas en mi clóset.

Patterns and models that never go out of style

I really felt identified with this year's Michael Kors Collection. Since one of my favorite shoe designs is thin, medium height boots with pointy front, no matter the color, is essential that I have one of this in my closet.

Brillo y comodidad

Por último, una palabra que utilizará para describir esta temporada es comodidad. Los diseños, al contar con poca altura, pometen ser pares que busquen que te sientas tranquila pero nunca sin perder el esttilo. La forma en la que Christopher Kane lo presentó me fascinó, ya que la mayoría de su calzado tiene muy poco tacón pero están llenos de vida al contar con pequeñas piedras brillantes sumamente coloridas.

Brightness and comfort

At last, one word that I would use to describe this season would be "comfort". As the designs have very low heels, they really promise to be shows that try to make you feel calm but never without losing the style. The form in which Christioher Kane presented it really fascinated me, as most of his pairs are low but full of life by having shiny and colorful rocks on it.

¡Hola mis amores! La Semana de la Moda de Milán comenzó hoy en grande gracias a Alessandro Michele y su colección Fall 2018 para Gucci. La pasarela fue tan perfecta como siempre, incluso teniendo lugar en un quirófano, completo con una cama de hospital. La firma italiana decidió apostar nuevamente por las mezclas eclécticas que han caracterizado sus últimas colecciones en las que los estampados florales en seda, los adornos de cristal, las perlas y el tweed, fueron algunos de los elementos principales. 

Hi my loves! Milan Fashion Week began today with Alessandro Michele's runway for Gucci. The runway was as perfect as usually, even when it took place in an emergency room... The Italian brand decided to bet again on the eclectic blends that have characterized its latest collections in which silk floral prints, crystal ornaments, pearls and tweed, were some of the main elements.

Esta temporada, el director creativo también hizo especial énfasis en los sombreros y los tocados de cristal inspirados en la década de los 20', además de los turbantes de seda y máscaras de esquí de encaje. El accesorio que definitivamente sorprendió a todos fue la réplica de las cabezas de algunos de los y las modelos que desfilaron en la pasarela. En este sueño también pudimos ver a una modelo mostrando su tercer ojo, mientras que otras tenían ojos brotando en las manos.

This season, the creative director also put special attention on hats and crystal headpieces inspired by the 1920s, as well as silk turbans and lace ski masks. The accessory that definitely surprised everyone was the replica of the heads of some of the models. In this dream we could also see a model showing her third eye, while others had eyes sprouting on the backs of her hands.

Posiblemente el elemento más viral del espectáculo fue que, en lugar de bolsas, varias modelos llevaban criaturas, como un dragón, una serpiente o un camaleón. Estos accesorios salvajes, así como las cabezas, fueron hechos especialmente para la pasarela por Makinarium, una fábrica con sede en Roma que produce estos efectos especiales a medida además de réplicas para películas.

One of the most viral element of the show was that, instead of handbags, a handful of models carried creatures, like a dragon, a snake or a chameleon. These wild accessories, as well as the heads, were made especially for the catwalk by Makinarium, a factory based in Rome that produces these special effects as well as replicas for films.

#NYFW: Las flores como símbolo de feminidad en la pasarela de Tory Burch

¡Feliz sábado mis amores! Hoy les quiero contar que ayer fui a la pasarela en la que Tory Burch presentó su nueva colección Fall 2018 en Nueva York. La diseñadora –quien lanzó su marca homónima en 2004 y es considerada una de las mujeres más poderosas del mundo– vistió su pasarela con más de 14 mil claveles naturales en color rosa para crear la ilusión de estar en un campo de flores.

Happy Saturday my loves! Yesterday I went to see the new collection of Tory Burch showed in New York Fashion Week. The designer –who launched her namesake brand in 2004 and is considered one of the most powerful women in the world adorned the runway with thousands of pink carnations to create the illusion of being in a field of flowers.

En la que es la propuesta más primaveral vista hasta el momento, predominaron los estampados florales en vestidos de seda con volantes, kaftanes (mis favoritos) faldas de rayas combinadas con camisas de flores y chamarras que iban desde bikers y parkas hasta abrigos de pelo o con corte de cazadora vaquera. 

In what is the most spring proposal seen so far, floral prints predominated in silk dresses with ruffles, kaftans (my favorites) striped skirts combined with flower shirts and jackets ranging from bikers and parkas to fur coats or with denim jacket cut.

Una de las piezas más gustadas de la colección fueron estas bolsas mejor conocidas como bandoleras que lograron complementar a la perfección cada uno de los looks para un estilo despreocupado y un tanto hippie.

One of the most liked pieces of the collection were these bags better known as bandoliers that managed to perfectly complement each one of the looks for a carefree and hippie style.

#NYFW: La pasarela de Tom Ford inspirada en los 80'

¡Hola mis amores! Por fin es Fashion Week, una de mis épocas favoritas del año. Mi primera parada en las ya conocidas como capitales de la moda es Nueva York y simplemente amo estar en esta ciudad. Lo primero que hice al llegar (además de comer deli ja,ja) fue ir al desfile de Tom Ford, quien llegó a la Gran Manzana con una dosis muy necesaria de empoderamiento femenino en la pasarela.

Hi my loves! It's Fashion Week, one of my favorite times of the year. My first stop is New York and I simply love being in this city. The first thing I did when I arrived (beside eating delicious) was going to the Tom Ford's runway, who arrived in the Big Apple with a much-needed dose of female empowerment on the catwalk.

La colección Fall 2018 del diseñador estuvo compuesta de prendas, accesorios y elementos inspirados en los años ochenta, incluidos los colores de neón, el estampado de leopardo, las bandanas de piel y mucho más. The Fall 2018 collection was made up of garments, accessories and elements inspired by the eighties, including neon colors, leopard print, leather bandanas and much more. But what stood out most were the bright accessories that carried the words PUSSY POWER in capital letters and the use of crystals on black sequins on capital letters that spelled out Beverly Hills, the iconic Rodeo Drive boutique in Los Angeles.

Tom Ford moved from London to Los Angeles last year so the zip code 90210 is important to him. However, the eighties were not the only time present. Slightly more sober black mini dresses with silver stockings, shoes with glass heels, thick ribbons and large hoops reminded me of Andy Warhol's muse: Edie Sedgwick.

El desfile de Alta Costura de la firma francesa definitivamente ya es el nuevo favorito para todos aquellos que aman el brillo y las lentejuelas como yo. Primero que nada, hablemos del lugar que eligió Karl Lagerfeld para la pasarela. El Grand Palais de París se transformó en un clásico jardín francés con una fuente en medio, senderos, pérgolas, enredaderas y flores. En este escenario me imagino perfectamente a Gabrielle Chanel pensando cómo sería su próxima colección…

Hi my loves! Today I would like us to analyze the new Chanel collection together. The haute couture show of the brand is definitely the new favorite for all those who love sequins and tweed like me. First of all, let's talk about the place that Karl Lagerfeld chose for the runway. The Grand Palais in Paris was transformed into a classic French garden with a fountain in the middle, paths, pergolas, vines and flowers. In this scenario I imagine perfectly Gabrielle Chanel thinking what her next collection would be like ...

Imposible no hablar también de Kaia Gerber quien además de ser musa e imagen de la maison, es una de las modelos más top del momento. Usando un vestido de tweed, plumas y pedrería adornado por un tocado con flores en la cabeza y maquillaje en tonos pastel, la hija de Cindy Crawford hizo su debut en las pasarelas de haute couture.

It is important to also talk about Kaia Gerber who besides being the muse and image of the maison, is one of the top models of the moment. Wearing tweed, feathers and a flowers on the head with a makeup look in pastel shades, the daughter of Cindy Crawford made her debut in Fashion Week Haute Couture.

La pasarela comenzó como lo hace habitualmente: con piezas de siluetas rectas compuestas por faldas y chamarras de tweed, tejido que además vimos hasta en los botines en tonos rosa, coral, limón, menta, gris y beige. El icónico traje cambia de color mientras que se incorpora una manga de kimono, hombros redondeados y dos bolsillos. Este nuevo diseño es llamado por Karl Lagerfeld "la nueva actitud” por su fuerza y arácter.

The show began as usual: with pieces of straight silhouettes composed of skirts and tweed jackets, fabric that we also saw in the booties in shades of pink, coral, lemon, mint, gray and beige. The iconic suit changes color while incorporating a kimono sleeve, rounded shoulders and two pockets. This new design is called by Karl Lagerfeld "the new attitude" for its strength and character.

Cuero o tul bordado fueron otros materiales que la firma francesa usó en sus botines –mismos que me fascinaron gracias a lo versátiles que son… ¡Se pueden usar con todo! Entre todos estos tejidos y adornos lo que más llamó la atención es la presencia de mucho brillo, lentejuela y pedrería. A la mitad del desfile, las prendas subieron de tono al igual que los colores vistos en ellas como el negro, plata brillante, morado, verde, fucsia y azul eléctrico.

Embroidered leather or tulle were other materials that the french firm used in its boots. Among all these fabrics and ornaments what most caught the attention is the presence of a lot of sparkle, and sequins. In the middle of the runway we started to see bold colors like black, silver, purple, green, fuchsia and electric blue.

The Spring-Summer #CHANELHauteCouture collection showcases sculptural silhouettes, featuring embroidery work on tulle with beads, stones and feathers by the 31, rue Cambon ateliers.

Por último, las modelos llevaron coronas florales en la cabeza y velos de tul, mientras que en todas las prendas se encontraban elementos icónicos de la marca como camelias (¡mis favoritas!), pensamientos, claveles y amapolas.

Finally, the models wore floral on the head and tulle veils, while on all the garments were iconic elements of the brand such as camellias (my favorites!), carnations and poppies.

La historia detrás de la pasarela surrealista de Dior Alta Costura en París

¡Hola mis amores! Ya comenzó la Semana de Alta Costura y qué mejor manera hacerlo que con el desfile de Dior. Las paredes de la amplia carpa en el jardín del Museo Rodin de París estaban envueltas en muselina, con los pliegues pegados en una estructura sobre un suelo de tablero blanco y negro. Enormes esculturas blancas de diferentes partes del cuerpo –como orejas, ojos y torsos– colgaban del techo para transmitir la inspiración surrealista detrás de la colección de Maria Grazia Chiuri para la maison. 

Hi my loves! The Fashion Week Haute Couture  has already begun and what better way to do it than with the Dior runway. The walls of the large tent in the garden of the Musee Rodin in Paris were wrapped in muslin, with the folds stuck in a structure on a black and white board floor. Enormous white sculptures from different parts of the body (like ears, eyes and torsos) hung from the ceiling to convey the surrealist inspiration behind Maria Grazia Chiuri's collection.

Antes de dedicarse a la costura, Christian Dior era un galerista y seguidor de este movimiento artístico que en ese entonces, estaba en sus mejores años. El diseñador fue el primero en organizarle una exposición a la artista surrealista argentina Leonor Fini, una de las primeras mujeres artistas que además de ser muy moderna era poco convencional. Inspirada en esta mujer, Chiuri se aleja de lo que nos había mostrado hasta el momento. Los tonos cobre dan paso al binomio blanco-negro y la ausencia de estampados a la unión de grafismos.

Before being in the fashion industry Christian Dior was a gallerist and follower of this artistic movement that at that time, in his best years. He was the first to organize an exhibition of Argentine surrealist artist Leonor Fini, one of the first female artists, very modern and unconventional. Inspired by this woman, Chiuri moves away from what she had shown us so far. The copper tones give way to the black-white binomial and the absence of prints to the union of graphics.

Desde máscaras con efecto tridimensional, siluetas estampadas en piezas de tul, vestidos convertidos en auténticas obras de arte o trajes ultra femeninos, la firma francesa presentó una colección en la que la seda, el tul, la gasa y las piedras transparentes, fueron los elementos principales. ¡Es mi sueño usar uno de estos diseños!

From masks with three-dimensional effect, silhouettes printed in tulle dresses, pieces turned into authentic works of art or ultra feminine costumes, the French firm presented a collection in which silk, tulle and transparent stones, were the main elements. It's my dream to use one of these designs!

Con respecto a los beauty looks, el Director de Creación e Imagen, Peter Philips redefinió el concepto de las pestañas XXL. El make-up artist usó un delineador grueso con pigmento para dibujar las líneas de las pestañas superiores e inferiores.

If we talk about beauty,  the Director of Creation and Image, Peter Philips redefined the concept of XXL tabs. The make-up artist used a thick eyeliner with high pigment to draw the lines of the upper and lower lashes.

Las mujeres que triunfaron durante 'Men's Fashion Week' en Milán y París

¡Hola mis amores! Hoy amanecí recordando que algunos de los mejores momentos que he pasado en mi vida han sido en Milán. Este enero, la Semana de la Moda Masculina en esa ciudad además de enseñarnos las mejores propuestas de importantes firmas de moda como Versace, Dolce & Gabbana y Dsquared2 para Otoño/Invierno 2018-2019, nos dejó ver lo importante que es la presencia femenina y el poder de la mujer en las diferentes pasarelas y colecciones que incluyeron prendas para nosotras.

Hi my loves! Today I woke up remembering that some of the best moments that I've spent in my life have been in Milan. This January, the Men's Fashion Week in this city as well as showing us the best of important fashion brands such as Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Dsquared2, let us see the power of women during the different runways and collections which included clothes and accessories for us.

Fue Bella Hadid quien abrió el desfile de Dsquared2 –usando una de las chamarras que ya forma parte de mi lista de deseos– seguida por Kendall Jenner quien impactó con un espectacular abrigo de fur y un vestido boho, perfecto para un día de verano. A su desfile se unieron otras 21 mujeres, mientras que en la pasarela de Prada caminaron 15 modelos femeninas y en la de Versace 11. 

It was Bella Hadid who opened the Dsquared2 fashion show using one of the jackets that is already part of my wish list, followed by Kendall Jenner who walked in a spectacular fur coat and a boho dress, perfect for a summer day. Another 21 women joined the show, while 15 female models walked in the Prada runway and 11 in the Versace fashion show.

En París, Naomi Campbell y Kate Moss dos de las top models más famosas de los años 90, cerraron el último desfile de Kim Jones para Louis Vuitton, quien se despidió de la maison después de siete años al frente de la colección masculina. Girl power on!

Chanel Spring-Summer 2018

You know Chanel will always have a special place in my heart, and of course, every Paris Fashion Week, all of us fashion lovers, are waiting for the Chanel magic to happen. Even that I couldn't make it this time, Ill leave you here my #runwayreport.

Olanes, moños, lanas y combinaciones entre pantalones y falda, chamarras con saco... Chanel no nos dejó de soprender con su capacidad para reinventarse, adaptarse y mantenerse fiel a la marca... si me quedara una pieza, sería el vestido blanco con el moño negro. Karl, gracias por otra temporada que nos hace soñar.

Dior Cruise 2018 - Runway Report

The Setting

When words fail to describe the amazing, well, pictures often do a better job, and this year, Christian Dior presented the Cruise collection in the most amazing setting, California`s golden plains. 

// Este año, la clásica Casa de moda Francesa Christian Dior presentó su colección Cruise en las doradas colinas de California y por supuesto, tanto la colección como la puesta del desfile estuvieron espectaculares, y aquí les dejo mi "Runway Report"

My Fave Looks

Contrario a lo que se presentó en París la temporada pasada (que fue todo en azules), Maria Grazia Chiuri presentó un colorido desfile donde los ponchos, faldas, sombreros y botas fueron el centro de atención. Con detalles en tonos coloridos pero siempre tendiendo a los crudos, Dior incorporó lo que siempre me ha encantado: la combinación de texturas. Piel con plumas, lana y tejidos pesados con seda... botas con falda, botas con vestido, todo espectacular. 

Accesorios: siempre clásicos de la marca. Sombreros divinos, y la bolsa (que ahora se lleva en la mano y no cruzada) y por supuesto, "Bling" en las manos con pulseras coloridas... otra colección que usaría todita =)

During march, Dior presented it's FW17 collection all in blues... and for this Cruise collection, Maria Grazia presented a superb collection that left us all in awe: boots, hats and ponchos with long skirts and impeccable dresses.

Combining textures like thick wool with flowy silk, or feathered skirts with see through exquisite blouses... this collection is stunning in every sense. Dior will always have a special place in my heart: chic, french and exquisite Dior will always be my choice.

love in Chanel...

As you know, Chanel presented it's FW17 collection a few days ago in Paris, and I had the chance to assist for the first time... dream come true to be honest, and this was my outfit for the occassion...

Chanel has always been synonym of fashion and style, and of course, Chanel presenting during Fashion week is one of the most important events of the week. I had the chance to use a Chanel look, and as you already know me, I did NOT went for the usual.

Yup, I went for this wide pants and a denim coat with a belt... of course, these all come separated, but when I put the outfit all together, I loved the contrast of the classic pants with the amazing jacket/coat in denim... and of course the belt. Everyone looks better with a nice belt on, and the bag, well, she got me at hello. BTW, it's a new model, so you will fin it soon in stores... you can wear it crossed, on the side, or stylishly on your hand =)

Buenas noches mis queridos... hoy les escribo desde lejos, muy lejos, pero feliz porque les dejo el post con mi look para el desfile de Chanel. Ya se los había contado antes, siempre había soñado con algún día poder asistir... y jamás imaginé poder ir vestida en look completo Chanel, así que le debo gracias a Dios, y por supuesto, a todos ustedes que como familia me han apoyado desde el principio...

Para el desfile, decidí usar pantalones amplios a rayas... blanco con negro para que combinara con la bolsa (que por cierto es un modelo nuevo y está, SUPER, MEGA, ULTRA cool) y con este saco, cruzado en mezclilla... y para que no me viera más ancha, usé este cinturón. La sonrisa y la pulsera nadie me las quitaban, jajaja, porque la pulsera también está increíble... y por supuesto me ubiqué usándola también en cualquier destino de playa con un sombrero y un traje de baño negro (siempre se vale soñar, no?)

Bueno, mi pregunta para ustedes es... ¿les gustó el outfit? Debo reconocer que algunos que me conocen por ahí me dijeron... ¡Pensamos que íbas a llegar con un saco negro de "tweed"! Pues no fue así... a mi me encantó el look, y a ustedes?
