¡Feliz miércoles mis amores! Después de mi workout de hoy en la mañana se me ocurrió platicarles cuáles son mis estudios y lugares favoritos para hacer ejercicio en la Ciudad de México. Durante estos últimos meses he tenido la bendición de ir varias veces de viaje y de probar las delicias que cada lugar ofrece. Por eso, cuando regreso trato de retomar mi rutina. Ya sea que busques tonificar, quemar calorías o simplemente despejar la mente y pasarla bien, estoy segura de que estas opciones te encantarán. ¡Cada clase dura menos de 60 minutos y es súper fácil hacer reservaciones online!

COMMANDO STUDIO

Este bootcamp es uno de mis favoritos ya que combina cardio y fuerza con la mejor música. Lo que más me gusta de este lugar es que el workout cambia cada día para trabajar todo cuerpo hasta quemar casi mil calorías por clase. ¡Es una delicia salir con mil energía y pedir un smoothie de proteína en “El After”!

This bootcamp is one of my favorites because it focuses on doing cardio and toning the body listening to the best music. What I like most about this place is that the workout changes every day and each class you burn almost a thousand calories. I love drink protein smoothie after class in "El After" (the cafeteria you can find here)!

Me fascina la combinación de bici y música a todo volumen. La clase cambia mucho dependiendo del instructor que elijas ya que además de tener diferentes playlists, cada uno le imprime su sello y personalidad. Sin importar el horario en el que vayas vas a salir feliz de la clase.

SOBRE LA CARRERA QUE ESTUDIÉ

Estudié Diseño Textil en la Universidad Iberoamericana de la Ciudad de México y les puedo decir que fue una de las etapas más felices de mi vida. ¡Amaba ir a la universidad! ¿Por qué escogí esta carrera? Bueno primero que nada porque siempre me ha cautivado todo el proceso de creación de la tela y materiales innovadores dentro de la industria textil y todo lo relacionado a ello como por ejemplo la industria de la moda y los diseñadores tanto de nuestro país como aquellos que fundaron las firmas internacionales más reconocidas. Lo que más me gustó de esta carrera es que estudiamos las tendencias del mercado, nos enseñaron a coordinar el proceso de producción, comercialización y difusión de productos además de motivarnos a crear nuestros propios diseños y colecciones. Un año antes de terminar mi carrera, presenté mis diseños en el MBFWMx. ¡Fue una experiencia increíble que nunca olvidaré! Siempre lo he sabido, lo que más me gusta en la vida es la moda. 

ABOUT THE CAREER I STUDIED

I studied textile design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and I can say it was one of the happiest times of my life. Why did I choose this carreer? First of all because I have always been captivated by the entire process of creation of the fabric and innovative materials within the textile industry and everything related to it, such as the fashion industry and the Mexican designers and those who founded the most recognized international brands. What I liked the most about this career is that we studied the market trends, they taught us to coordinate the production process, marketing and dissemination of products as well as motivating us to create our own designs and collections. A year before finishing my career, I showed my designs at the MBFWMx. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget! I've always known, what I like the most in life is fashion.

¿DÓNDE TRABAJÉ?

Casi terminando mi carrera estuve trabajando un año en Grupo Kaltex, que además de producir millones de metros de tela y complementos como hilo y fibras sintéticas al año, es uno de los mayores exportadores de textiles en México y América Latina. Me encantó trabajar aquí porque pude hacer varias cosas desde conocer cómo es el día a día en las fábricas de acabado textil, hilatura y prendas de vestir, hasta ver los procesos e involucrarme con el departamento de diseño, responsable de elegir tonos de mezclilla, colores, estampados y hasta del diseño gráfico. Fue aquí donde comencé a armar mis Moodboards en Pinterest inspirándome en las tendencias de color del momento.

AT WHAT COMPANY WAS I EMPLOYED?

When I almost finished my career I worked one year at Grupo Kaltex, which beside producing million meters of fabric and complements as thread and synthetic fibers, is one of the major exporters of textiles in Mexico and Latin America. I loved working here because I did several things from knowing how everything works in the factories, up to seeing the processes in the design department that is in charge of choosing colors, prints and more. It was here where I began to arm my Moodboards in Pinterest.

¿QUÉ HACÍA ANTES DE EMPEZAR MI BLOG? 

Empecé Allier Atellier justo después de que me salí de trabajar de esta empresa enorme textilera. Los primeros diseños que hice fueron vestidos para ocasiones especiales para mis amigas, para mi mamá y mi hermana. Fue así como decidí empezar un taller de vestidos a la medida.

WHAT DID I DO BEFORE STARTING MY BLOG?
I started Allier Atellier in 2013, just after I left that huge textile company. The first designs I made were dressed for special occasions for my friends, for my mom and my sister. That's how I decided to start a tailor-made clothing workshop.

SOBRE ALLIER SWIMWEAR

Este proyecto estuvo lleno de retos, emociones y sorpresas. No puedo definir exactamente cómo empezó, pero después de un buen tiempo que busqué trajes de baño diferentes a los que todas teníamos, decidí empezar esta línea confirmando que aunque podremos tener tallas similares, para que un traje te quede perfecto, tiene que estar hecho a la medida o bien, recibir unos ajustes que se adapten al tipo de cuerpo y resalten nuestros mejores atributos. Poco después de esto, empezó a tomar fuerza el blog, y cada vez había más trabajo en todos los frentes. Continué así por un par de años, hasta que empecé a descuidar algunos aspectos importantes y me tuve que replantear lo que quería hacer en mi vida y de mi vida. Así que decidí ponerle pausa a ambos proyectos y dedicarme de tiempo completo a ser editora de Pamallier.com.

ABOUT ALLIER SWIMWEAR

This project was full of challenges, emotions and surprises. I can not define exactly how it started, but after a long time I looked for different swimsuits than we all had, I decided to start this line confirming that although we can have similar sizes, for a suit to be perfect, it has to be to the measure or, to receive some adjustments that adapt to the type of body and highlight our best attributes. Shortly after this, the blog began to grow, and I had a lot of work. I continued like this for a couple of years, until I began to consider some important aspects and I had to rethink what I wanted to do in my life and my life. So I decided to pause both projects and dedicate myself full time to be editor of Pamallier.com.

¿CUÁNDO EMPECÉ A SER BLOGGER?

Esta aventura digital empezó en 2014 con el nombre Perlas y Camelias. Después de hacer unos ajustes, el sitio adoptó el nombre de Pam Allier. Todavía me acuerdo de mi primer post. ¡Feliz lunes mis amores! Si hay algo que amo es armar looks y para lograr que esto sea fácil y rápido siempre trato de usar pocas prendas y accesorios clave. Cuando me preguntan en qué me inspiro o cuál es mi secreto siempre les digo que los pequeños detalles son los que hacen la diferencia. Happy Monday my loves! If there is something I love, it is to create looks and to achieve it easily and quickly I always try to use a few key clothes and accessories. When you ask me what inspires me or what's my secret, I always tell you that the small details are what make the difference. Mientras que el fin de semana podemos escoger combinaciones mucho más relajadas que reflejan nuestro estado de ánimo, llega el lunes y con eso la oficina. Queremos causar una impresión, desenvolvernos cómodamente y además reflejar nuestra personalidad. El secreto es apostar por colores neutros y máximo combinar dos o simplemente optar por un look monocromático. Esta es una de mis combinaciones favoritas:

Esto es lo que hace la gente exitosa los fines de semana (según estudios científicos)

¡Feliz fin de semana mis amores! Ya estoy en México feliz de estar con mi familia y de poder estar en mi casa. Cuando venía en el avión de regreso, leí un artículo (no muy reciente) de la revista Forbes que decía cuáles son las actividades que hacen las personas exitosas los fines de semana. Como me pareció muy interesante el tema investigué un poco más y encontré estudios científicos hechos por la Universidad de Harvard que especifican los siguientes puntos:

As I found the topic very interesting, I did a little more research and found scientific studies done by Harvard University that specify the following points:

Tratan de despertarse a la misma hora

Si necesitan recuperar las horas de sueño perdidas en la semana, se van a la cama más temprano para levantarse siempre a la misma hora y hacer de su sábado o domingo, un día muy productivo. Este punto además de permitirte seguir con las fases de sueño a la que tu cuerpo está acostumbrado, hace más productivo el lunes ya que tu cerebro estará listo para despertarse a la hora habitual.

Studies show that anticipating something good to come is an important part of what makes the activity enjoyable. Knowing that you have something interesting planned for Saturday will not only be fun on Saturday, but it will significantly improve your mood throughout the week.

Sobre el hotel Four Seasons Whistler

El hotel se encuentra a unos minutos del Upper Village y de The Lost Lake que ofrece caminatas, senderos y vistas impresionantes. Cuando llegas, te reciben con una limonada de arándano y tomillo. A primera vista puedes darte cuenta que aunque es un hotel grande, es súper acogedor y cálido que te da la sensación de estar literalmente en una cabaña de ski en la montaña.

About Four Seasons Whistler

The hotel is near the Upper Village and The Lost Lake, place that offers hiking, trails and breathtaking views. Con respecto a la decoración, me fascina la combinación de la madera de arce con piedra blanca, beige y miel. Cada uno de los cuartos tienen productos L'Occitane, una chimenea y mi parte favorita: el balcón con vista a la montaña. El poder histórico de los zapatos rojos

¡Feliz miércoles mis amores! ¿Ustedes también han notado que las tiendas están repletas de botas, botines y zapatos rojos? La razón por la que amo llevar este color en uno de mis accesorios favoritos va más allá de la moda. Históricamente significan poder y simbolizan el poder de las mujeres. 

Happy Wednesday, my loves! Have you also noticed that the stores are full of boots and red shoes? The reason why I love wearing this color in one of my favorite accessories goes beyond fashion. Historically they mean power and symbolize the power of women.

Un poco de historia

Estoy segura de que la mayoría de ustedes han visto 'El Mago de Oz' y se acuerdan perfecto de los zapatos rojos que usó Dorothy. Sin embargo, su historia se remonta a siglos atrás. En la época de  Luis XVI –rey que aparece en un retrato oficial usando zapatos con tacón rojo–, usar este complemento de color rojo era un "privilegio" exclusivo para hombres poderosos. En diferentes películas y hasta en obras como de ballet 'The Red Shoes', los zapatos rojos siempre han sido símbolo de poder y magia. 

I'm sure most of you have seen 'The Wizard of Oz' and you remember Dorothy's red slippers. However, its history goes back centuries. At the time of Louis XVI, who appears in an official portrait wearing red-heeled shoes, wearing this red-colored accessory was an exclusive "privilege" for powerful men. In different movies and even in ballet plays such as 'The Red Shoes', red shoes have always been a symbol of power and magic.

¡Hola mis amores! Son días de vacaciones y por eso quise hacerles este post en el que les doy mis técnicas para empacar y aprovechar hasta el último espacio en tu maleta, sin importar si vas a lugares de frío o de calor. Empacar es posiblemente el único aspecto tedioso de salir de la ciudad. Aunque lo hagas corriendo (como yo a veces ja,ja,ja) lo más importante es llegar a tu destino con todo lo indispensable y evitar descubrir que no tienes nada que ponerte, ¡a todas nos ha pasado! Para descartar esta idea, te dejo esta mini guía y te platico cómo empaco para ir a lugares opuestos.

Hello my loves! The holidays (in Mexico City) are here days and that's why I wanted to make this post in which I give my techniques to pack and take advantage of the last space in your suitcase, regardless of whether you go to places of cold or to the beach. Packing is possibly the only tedious aspect of leaving the city. Even if you do it running (as I sometimes ha ha ha) the most important thing is to reach your destination with all the essentials and avoid discovering that you have nothing to wear, it has happened to all of us! To discard this idea, I leave you this mini guide where I tell you how to pack how to pack in the best way.

Esto es lo que puedes encontrar en mi maleta para frío y nieve

Definitivamente cuando voy a lugares de frío es cuando más trabajo me cuesta empacar porque la ropa es mucho más grande de lo normal y por lo general únicamente llevo dos maletas por lo que tengo que hacer que todos mis looks y outfits quepan (ja,ja,ja) y funcione de la mejor manera. ¡Es todo un reto!

Definitely when I go to places of cold is when I work more hard to pack because the clothes are much larger than normal and usually only carry two suitcases so I have to make all my outfits fit and work in the best way. It's a challenge!

Sobre las maletas que uso

Muchos de ustedes me han preguntado qué hay dentro de las maletas que salen en mis fotos. La maleta grande es la que siempre documento en el avión y la chica es mi carry on luggage. En la segunda llevo mi laptop, mi cargador, el cargador de mi celular, un estuche con varios lentes, mi tenaza, unos zapatos y uno o dos looks por cualquier cosa e imprevisto que se me pudiera llegar a presentar (como cuando me quedé en Milán unos días sin maleta). Esta maletita es lo último que armo y siempre empiezo con la grande. Del lado derecho pongo ropa y del izquierdo trato de acomodar todos los zapatos que voy a usar.

Many of you have asked me what is inside the suitcases that appear in my photos. The big suitcase is the one I always document and the small one is the one I carry with me on the plane. In the second one I pack my laptop, my charger, the charger of my phone, a case with several sunglasses, some shoes and one or two looks for anything and unforeseen that could be presented to me (like when I stayed in Milan a few days without my suitcase). This suitcase is the last thing I put together and I always start with the big one. On the right side I put clothes on and on the left I try to fit all the shoes I'm going to use.

Como voy a esquiar y a la nieve trato de llevar pocos zapatos porque me di cuenta de que no los uso tanto así que llevo dos pares de botas para la nieve que son súper grandes y ahí se me va la mitad de mi maleta. En ese mismo espacio esta vez metí dos pares de zapatos en bolsitas para evitar que se ensucie la maleta y unos tenis para correr porque de Whistler tuve que irme directo a Londres. Siempre llevo tenis puestos para el aeropuerto, ¡no puedo viajar sin ellos! Después de todo esto, guardo mis trajes para esquiar y lleno los laterales de la maleta con calcetines y guantes para esquiar y más.

Since I'm going skiing I try to wear a few shoes because I realized that I do not wear them so much so I wear two pairs of snow boots that are super big. In that same space this time I put two pairs of shoes in bags to avoid dirtying my suitcase and some running shoes because of Whistler I had to go straight to London. I always bring tennis to the airport, I can not travel without them! After all this, I pack my ski suits and fill the sides of the suitcase with ski socks and gloves and more.

Lo siguiente que empaco son mis básicos: underwear, jeans, pantalones negros de semi piel, playeras de manga larga en colores neutros y blusas más monas por si tengo una cena o algo así al igual que unos pantalones con diferentes estampados o texturas y un par de jumpsuits. Otra prenda que es de mis infalibles son suéteres (siempre trato de llevar seis o más para combinar). Por último meto en la maleta mis cosas de baño, –shampoo, crema hidratante, makeup en una bolsita que amo– una chamarra para esquiar y un par de abriguitos  de colores. 

The next thing I pack are my basics: underwear, jeans, black semi-leather pants, long-sleeved shirts in neutral colors and cutest blouses in case I have a dinner or something like pants with different patterns or textures and a pair of jumpsuits. Another item that is my infallible are sweaters (I always try to bring six or more to combine). Finally, I put my bath stuff in the suitcase, -shampoo, moisturizer, makeup in a bag that I love, a ski jacket and a couple of colored coats.

Esto es lo que puedes encontrar en mi maleta de playa

Empacar para ir a la playa es MIL VECES más fácil. Primero que nada, todo ocupa menos espacio y se acomoda mejor. Esto es ideal ya que puedo llevar muchísimos looks en una sola maleta. En este caso, lo primero que empaco son los zapatos y sandalias (también en bolsitas), de este lado meto también una bolsa con bronceadores, protector solar y mi maletita de baño. ¡Todavía me sobra espacio! Entonces meto algunas bolsas de playa grandes. ¡Me fascinan y son el complemento ideal!

Packing to go to the beach is THOUSAND TIMES easier. First of all, everything takes up less space and fits better. This is ideal since I can wear many looks in one suitcase. In this case, the first thing I pack are the shoes and sandals (also in bags), on this side I also put a bag with sunscreen, sunscreen and my bath suitcase. I still have plenty of space! Then I put some big beach bags. I just love them. 

Del otro lado meto mis básicos de playa: Trajes de baño completos, bikinis, vestiditos ligeros, pantalones, tops y accesorios. Casi siempre guardo en la maleta grande uno o dos estuches con lentes para escoger los que vayan mejor con mi outfit. 

On the other side I put my beach basics: full bathing suits, bikinis, light dresses, pants, tops and accessories. I almost always keep in the big suitcase one or two cases with lenses to choose the ones that go best with my outfit.

Además de comer en lugares deliciosos y disfrutar de paisajes impresionantes, Whistler es el lugar que por excelencia tiene las mejores pistas para esquiar en el sur de Canadá y además enamora con su pueblito estilo europeo. Paso 1: La importancia del protector solar

Cuando llevas una chamarra XXL, orejeras, una bufanda gigante y botas de nieve lo último que tenemos en mente es el protector solar. Por lo general la prioridad número uno es mantenerte en calor y tener la piel hidratada. Pero las temperaturas más frías pueden engañarte ya que incluso la exposición al sol de bajo nivel se acumula y ciertamente puedes desarrollar daño solar relacionado con los rayos UV hasta en los lugares más fríos.

Step 1: The importance of sunscreen

When you wear a XXL jacket, earmuffs, a giant scarf and snow boots, the last thing we have in mind is sunscreen. Generally the number one priority is to stay warm and have hydrated skin. But colder temperatures can fool you because even low-level sun exposure builds up and you can certainly develop sun damage related to UV rays even in the coldest places.

El clima frío, húmedo y ventoso junto con la calefacción puede afectar tu piel. Afortunadamente, hay una gran variedad de productos de belleza que nos ayudan a revivir y rejuvenecer la piel cansada y sin brillo. Lo importante es aplicar un sérum en piel limpia y después la crema hidratante para potencializar el efecto de ambos. Aquí algunas de mis cremas favoritas:

Cold, damp and windy weather together with heating can affect your skin. Fortunately, there is a wide variety of beauty products that help us revive and rejuvenate tired and dull skin. The important thing is to apply a serum on clean skin and then the moisturizer to potentiate the effect of both. Here some of my favorite creams:

Paso 3: Maquillaje a prueba de agua

Este tipo de maquillaje no es únicamente para los climas cálidos. Si vas a esquiar y quieres usar un poco de maquillaje, te recomiendo asegurarte de todo sea aprueba de agua: lápiz de cejas, delineador, rímel, corrector, lápiz labial. Porque lo último que quieres es quedar atrapado en una tormenta de nieve sorpresa y sufrir las consecuencias (a mi ya me pasó una vez ja,ja,ja).

Step 3: Water proof makeup

This type of makeup is not only for warm climates. If you are going to ski and you want to use some makeup, I recommend you to make sure everything is approved by water: eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, concealer, lipstick. Because the last thing you want is to get caught in a surprise snowstorm and suffer the consequences (it happened to me once, ha ha ha).

Ubicado muy cerca de varios de los hoteles y principales atractivos turísticos, este lugar es famoso por su el café (que es una delicia), el pan artesanal y desayunos rápidos. ¡Es uno de mis favoritos para desayunar o para darme un break después de esquiar!

Located very close to several of the main hotels, this place is famous for its coffee (which is a delight), handmade bread and quick breakfasts. It's one of my favorites for breakfast!

Si tienes antojo de un lunch o snack rápido para recargar energía después de esquiar, este espacio además de ser muy bonito ofrece sopas recién hechas, ensaladas, hamburguesas, hamburguesas vegetarianas y sándwiches caseros. 

If you have a craving for a quick lunch or snack to recharge after skiing, this space, besides being very nice, offers fresh soups, salads, hamburgers, vegetarian burgers and homemade sandwiches.

¿Cuándo y dónde?

El año pasado, la casa de moda italiana ideó una nueva estrategia para reforzar su presencia en América Latina, a través de dos tiendas pop-up, así como su primera tienda outlet en México. La pasarela será en el Museo Soumaya en próximo 18 de abril. Fue el mismo Stefano Gabbana quien confirmó la noticia a través de su cuenta de Instagram.

When and where?

Last year, the Italian fashion house launched a new strategy to reinforce their presence in Latin America, through two pop-up stores as well as their first outlet store on Mexican soil. The runway will be at the Soumaya Museum on April 18. It was Stefano Gabbana who confirmed the news in his Instagram account.

La noticia surge después de que la marca inauguró dos tiendas pop-up en nuestra ciudad, la primera en Vía Santa Fe y la segunda en el Palacio de Hierro Polanco, ofreciendo servicio personalizado para accesorios y sneakers (¡me fascinan!) así como sus colecciones de pret-à-porter. La firma italiana tiene cinco tiendas en total, todas ubicadas en la Ciudad de México, Cancún y Guadalajara. 

The news comes after the brand opened two pop-up stores in our city, the first in Vía Santa Fe and the second in El Palacio de Hierro Polanco, offering personalized service for accessories and sneakers (I love them!) as well as their pret-a-porter collections. The Italian brand has five in total, all located in Mexico City, Cancun and Guadalajara.

El reto de las 52 semanas:

Este primer tip consiste en un reto semanal que al principio es fácil de cumplir pero conforme avanzan los meses se pone un poco más complicado. Durante un año tendrás que guardar cierta cantidad de dinero. La primera semana 10 pesos, la segunda 20 pesos y así consecutivamente. Te impresionará la cantidad que tendrás al final. 

The challenge of the 52 weeks:

This first tip consists of a weekly challenge that at first will be easy to fullfill but as the months pass it gets a bit more complicated. For a year you will have to sabe a certain amount of money. The first week 10 pesos, the second 20 pesos and so one, you will be impressed by the final amount.

El desafío de los 365 días:

Este es similar al otro pero en vez de ahorrar cada semana ahorrarás cada día. Si ahorras de peso en peso al final de la semana tendrías 28 pesos y eso lo multiplicarías por lo que guardes el resto del año.

The 365 day challenge:

This is similar to the other one but instead of saving every week you will do it every day. If you save little by little, at the end of the week you will have a good amount that later will be multiplied by what you saved the rest of the year.

Método Harv Eker:

Este método está registrado en el libro “Los secretos de la mente millonaria” del autor y es una técnica que consiste en saber en qué inviertes todo tu dinero. Para lograrlo tienes que dividir tus ganancias mensuales y destinarlas la mitad a necesidades básicas y el resto del 50% dividido entre ocio, ahorro, caridad, capacitación, inversión.

Harv Eker method:

This method is registers in the book “The secrets of the millionaire mind” of the author and is a technique that consists of knowing in what you invest all your money. To achieve this you have to divide your monthly earnings and allocate half of them to basic needs and the rest of the 50% divided between leisure, savings, charity, training, and investment.

Este libro japonés explica de la forma más simple cómo nuestra forma de economizar ha ido cambiando. Necesitas utilizar una simple libreta en la que registres tus gastos mensuales y estar conscientes de todo el dinero que gastas y así valorar aquello en lo que si vale la pena hacerlo.
