¡Hola, mis amores! Le escribo este post desde el avión rumbo a París para contarles que este fin de semana pudimos celebrar el cumpleaños de una de las personas más importantes para mí: ¡mi papá! Últimamente amo organizar fiestas en mi casa y con la práctica descubrí que cuáles son esos detalles –aparentemente sin importancia– que marcan la diferencia. ¿Es posible organizar un evento inolvidable? Lately I love to have parties at home and with practice I discovered that details that are apparently unimportant, make your event unforgettable. Is it possible to have the best event at all? Siempre he creído que las primeras impresiones sí cuentan. En este caso recurrí a Ana Sala y Marisa Chambón, fundadoras de DULKA eventos, una empresa 100% mexicana experta en la personalización de eventos con diseño y decoración de acuerdo al concepto o tema de sus clientes. Me encantó que usaran colores como el beige y el dorado en contraste con negro o morado. Siempre que organizo una fiesta pienso en ellos porque se encargan de la planificación de tu evento y cada uno de sus servicios son una experiencia. Estos van desde luxury picnics hasta mesas de quesos con diferentes opciones a elegir para pura decoración o hasta una cena completa.

I have always believed that first impressions do count. In this case I turned to Ana Sala and Marisa Chambón, founders of DULKA events, a Mexican company expert in customizing events with design and decoration according to the concept or theme of its customers. I loved that they used colors like beige and gold in contrast to black and purple. Whenever I throw a party I hire DULKA because they are in charge of planning your event and each of their services is an experience. These range from luxury picnics to cheese tables with different packages to choose from for pure decoration to a complete dinner party.

#2 Las sorpresas

Dicen por ahí que los detalles hacen la diferencia y en cualquier celebración creo que es clave sorprender a tus invitados. Sofía Díaz, la dueña de Manhares es especialista en esto y se distingue por la calidad, variedad, y presentación de los dulces o monchis que pone en cada fiesta a la que va. 

# 2 Surprises

They say that the details make the difference and in any celebration I think they are the key to surprise your guests. Sofía Díaz, the owner of Manhares is an expert in making surprises and is distinguished by the quality, variety, and presentation of her candy or cheese tables.

#3 Cuando se van

Siempre trato de regalar algo al final para llevar a casa. Puede ser desde una bolsita de dulces, hasta un hangover kit o una pashmina para el frío.

I always try to give something away at the end to take home. It can be from a bag of sweets, to a hangover kit or a pashmina for the cold weather.

Travel Diary: Four Seasons New York Downtown!

¡Hola, mis amores! Hoy les quiero platicar sobre uno de los hoteles en los que me hospedé durante los últimos días que estuve en Nueva York durante Fashion Week: el Four Seasons New York Downtown. Como ya les he contado antes, TriBeCa es uno de los barrios que más amo en NYC por sus restaurantes, café, buena vibra y porque en el corazón de este spot está este hotel. Les puedo decir mil y un razones por las que les recomiendo hospedarse aquí pero prefiero platicarles cada una de las características por las que vivo enamorada de cada uno de sus espacios.

Hi my loves! Today I’m writing about one of the hotels I stayed in New York during Fashion Week: the Four Seasons New York Downtown. As I have told you before, TriBeCa is one of the neighborhoods that I love for its restaurants, coffee, good vibes and also this amazing hotel. I can tell you a thousand reasons why I recommend staying here but I prefer to tell you each of the things that have made me fall in love with each of its spaces.

Accomodations

No saben la delicia que era llegar al hotel después de caminar horas para ir a los desfiles. Las suites son espaciosas y amo que tengan mucha luz natural gracias a las ventanas de gran tamaño. Lo más me gusta es la terraza y su vista de los sitios emblemáticos de la ciudad.

It was amazing getting back to the hotel after walking for hours from one show to another. The suites are very spacious and I love that they have natural light. I also like the terrace and its view of the emblematic sites of the city.

Wellness Floor

Nunca voy a olvidar cuando descubrí este piso con un spa irreal, una alberca de entrenamiento y un gym con vista al centro. ¡Amé los snacks y la atención!

I will never forget when I discovered this floor with the spa, a training pool and a gym. I loved the snacks!

Dining

El famosísimo Wolfgang Puck creó el menú de CUT con especialidades como el filete wagyu japonés, que combinado con un ambiente elegante y acogedor diseñado por Jacques Garcia dan como resultado uno de los restaurantes favoritos de los neoyorquinos.

The famous Wolfgang Puck created the CUT menu with specialties such as Japanese Wagyu steak, which is combined with an elegant and cozy atmosphere designed by Jacques Garcia and has resulted as one of New Yorkers' favorite restaurants.

Destination

Otra cosa que amo de este hotel es su ubicación. Puedes llegar caminando a los mejores restaurantes de Soho o descubrir el histórico Seaport District y North Cove Marina. En la noche amo el Meatpacking District y el Lower East Side con los mejores spots para cenar o tomar un drink.

Another thing I love about this hotel is its location. You can walk to the best restaurants in Soho or discover the historic Seaport District and North Cove Marina. In the evening I love going to the Meatpacking District and the Lower East Side with the best spots for dinner or grabbing a drink.

Coach

Si hay alguien que ha logrado plasmar la cultura americana en sus diferentes colecciones es Stuart Vevers. En sus seis años en Coach, el diseñador ha tomado como inspiración diversos elementos vintage como inspiración. Esta temporada les puedo decir que el director creativo de la marca cambió por completo su estilo y nos llevó a Nueva York de los años 80. Chamarras estilo biker, gabardinas de colores como el cereza y prendas con la interpretación del artista Richard Bernstein, fueron los elementos principales. ¡Siempre será una de mis pasarelas favoritas!

If there is someone who has managed to capture American culture in their different collections, it is Stuart Vevers. In his six years at Coach, the designer has taken as inspiration various vintage elements. This season I can tell you that the creative director of the brand completely changed his style and took us to New York back in the 80s. Biker-style jackets, colored trench coats garments with the interpretation of artist Richard Bernstein, were the main elements. It will always be one of my favorite runway shows!

Michael Kors

En esta colección, el diseñador buscó explorar la ropa deportiva estadounidense, dándole una vibra que nos recuerda a los años 40. Amé llegar a Brooklyn Navy Yard, donde Kors reinventó este período en su característico estilo optimista y colorido. La paleta era roja, blanca y azul, o brillante primaria, y los vestidos tenían estampados de divertidos. Los trajes sastres resaltaron por sus detalles militares. ¡Bravo!

In this collection, the designer sought to explore American sportswear, giving it a vibe that reminds us of the 40s. I loved being at Brooklyn Navy Yard, where Kors reinvented this period in his characteristic optimistic and colorful style. The palette was red, white and blue and the dresses had fun prints. Tailored suits stood out for their military details. Bravo!

My days at The Knickerbocker Hotel in NYC!

¡Hola, mis amores! Si hay algo que me gusta es venir a Nueva York. Siempre me preguntan en qué hoteles me quedo durante NYFW y por eso les quiero platicar sobre el primer hotel en el que estuve estos días: The Knickerbocker. De lo que más me gusta de este lugar es que está en Times Square y que a pesar de ser uno de los spots con más movimiento, cuando entras la hotel todo es calma y relajación.

Hi my loves! If there is something I love is coming to New York. You always ask me in which hotels I stay during NYFW and that's why I want to tell you about the first hotel I stayed these days: The Knickerbocker. What I like most about this place is that it is located in Times Square and that despite being one of the spots with more movement, when you enter the hotel everything is calm and relaxed.

Una leyenda en NY

The Knickerbocker ha hospedado a empresarios, políticos, deportistas, diseñadores y amantes de la moda. Una de sus principales características es su famosa fachada Beaux-Arts, que no ha tenido cambios desde que fue creada por John Jacob Astor en 1906.

A legendary landmark in NYC

The Knickerbocker has hosted businessmen, politicians, athletes, designers and fashionistas. One of its main features is its famous Beaux-Arts facade, which has not changed since it was built by John Jacob Astor in 1906.

La decoración

Es increíble el contraste de la fachada con los toques modernos que hay dentro del hotel. Las habitaciones de The Knickerbocker tienen muebles increíbles hechos a la medida, impresionantes vistas de la ciudad y mucha tecnología.

The decor

A sleek modern neutral space meets you as you walk into the hotel. Bespoke furnishings, marble bathrooms, stunning city views and cutting-edge technology complete each of the rooms.

El restaurante

Sobre la comida –siempre les platico de esto porque ya saben que soy fan de comer deli–, la cocina está a cargo del reconocido Charlie Palmer. Él es famoso por su pasión por los ingredientes vibrantes e inesperados. Desde la comida artesanal de café en el Jake's Cafe en el lobby hasta la comida americana del hotel servida en The Knick o el menú lounge y los cócteles artesanales en St. Cloud, las opciones en este lugar son infinitas.

About the food

The kitchen is in charge by reknowned Charlie Palmer. He is famous for his passion for vibrant and unexpected ingredients. From the artisanal coffee food at Jake's Cafe in the lobby to the hotel's American food served at The Knick or the lounge menu and artisan cocktails at St. Cloud, the options at this place are endless.

NYFW: Carolina Herrera ✨

¡Hola, mis amores! Como se los prometí, les escribo para platicarles más sobre el increíble día en el que Carolina Herrera presentó su nueva colección, inauguró su nueva flagship store y terminó con una increíble cena para celebrar, todo esto durante NYFW. Mi emoción por este día empezó desde antes, cuando fui al fitting para escoger los outfits que usé en cada happening. ¡Les cuento un poco más!

Hi, my loves. As I promised you, I’m writing to tell you more about Carolina Herrera’s new collection, the opening of a new flagship store and an amazing dinner to celebrate, all this during NYFW. My excitement for this day started when I went to the fitting to choose the outfits I wore to each event!

El desfile

Colores + flores + lunares = la fórmula idónea para crear la colección perfecta, inspirada en la naturaleza y en la belleza de las flores. Este desfile fue un homenaje a la fundadora de la marca, quien siempre ha apostado por prendas, texturas y estampados que resalten las características de la mujer. Wes Gordon –quien es el director creativo desde hace más de un año– creó increíbles combinaciones entre las que sobresalen las mangas con volumen, vestidos de hombros al aire, maxi faldas y camisas con cinturones, además de vestidos camiseros de efecto tie dye. ¡Amo y quiero usar todo!

The runway

Colors + flowers + polka dots = the perfect collection, inspired by nature and the beauty of flowers. This runway show was a tribute to the founder of the brand, who has always opted for garments, textures and prints that highlight femininity. Wes Gordon (who has been the creative director for more than a year now) achieved amazing combinations among which voluminous sleeves and shoulder pads on dresses, maxi skirts and belted shirts, as well as tie dye shirt dresses stand out. I love and want to wear everything!

La flagship store

En la noche fui a la inauguración de la nueva tienda que está en Madison Avenue. ¡Me fascinó! Para la ocasión usé un vestido de manga larga y brillo firmado por Carolina Herrera.

In the evening I attended the opening of the new store located on Madison Avenue. I loved it! For the occasion I wore a glittered long sleeve dress by Carolina Herrera.

La cena

Después del opening nos invitaron a cenar a un dinner y literal fue mi plan perfecto. Habían hamburguesas, papas a la francesa y de postre pie de manzana. ¡Delicia!

The dinner

After the opening they invited us to have dinner which was a great ending to a perfect plan. There were burgers, french fries and apple pies for dessert. YUM

Longchamp

La directora creativa de Longchamp, Sophie Delafontaine, se inspiró en la década de los 90 para llevar darle un toque deportivo al ya icónico estilo boho de la marca. Amé que Kaia Gerber abriera el desfile usando una chamarra negra como vestido –ya saben que soy fan de hacer eso– y una camisa blanca. Otra cosa que me gustó mucho fue que presentaron una nueva versión de la bolsa Roseau con aplicaciones geométricas y la icónica Pliage ahora viene en tamaño mini.

Longchamp's creative director, Sophie Delafontaine, was inspired by the 90’s to bring a sporty touch to the brand's iconic boho style. I loved that Kaia Gerber opened the runway wearing a black jacket as a dress and a white shirt. Another thing that I really liked was that they presented a new version of the Roseau bag with geometric applications and the iconic Pliage now comes in mini size.

Tory Burch

Fue increíble llegar al Brooklyn Museum para ver esta colección que literalmente está hermosa. La diseñadora hizo un homenaje a la fuerza y esfuerzos humanitarios de la princesa Diana, centrándose en siluetas amplias y definidas. Natalia Vodianova abrió el desfile con una falda y top con detalles de encaje. Los elementos principales de esta propuesta fueron los pantalones slouchy, los vestidos con plisados y color, los trajes oversize, las prendas boho y las mangas con volumen.

It was amazing to arrive at the Brooklyn Museum to witness this beautiful collection. The designer paid tribute to the force and humanitarian efforts of Princess Diana, focusing on broad and defined silhouettes. Natalia Vodianova opened the show with a skirt and top with lace details. The main elements of this runway were slouchy pants, colorful and pleated dresses, oversized suits, boho garments and voluminous sleeves.

Tommy Hilfiger

Este 100% es uno de mis desfiles favoritos. Cuando llegué al Teatro Apollo de Harlem, me fascinó llegar al espacio en el que fue la pasarela que parecía una fiesta callejera con coches antiguos llenos de trompetistas, cuartetos de cuerda y otros músicos que ayudaron a crear el mood perfecto. Esta colección en colaboración con Zendaya fue sobre ‘Seventies funk’, con trajes ajustados y pantalones acampanados con texturas o estampados como cuadros, lunares de franela y hasta terciopelo. Las prendas que más me llamaron la atención fueron las faldas midi de cuero usadas con suéteres de Lurex a rayas con botones de perlas y botas altas, los vestidos de gasa con estampados y los abrigos.

This was one of my favorite runways. When I arrived at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, I loved being at a street party with old cars full of trumpeters, string quartets and other musicians that helped create the perfect mood. This collection in collaboration with Zendaya was about ‘Seventies funk’, with tight suits and flared pants with textures and prints resembling paintings, flannel polka dots and even velvet. The garments that most caught my attention were the leather midi skirts worn with striped Lurex sweaters with pearl buttons and high boots, the chiffon dresses with prints and the coats.

Uff!! Uno de los momentos más top de NYFW. Amé esta colección en la que Wes Gordon incluyó la icónica camisa blanca e impresionantes vestidos pero les dio su sello personal al agregar texturas, color, frescura y movimiento con estampados como lunares aterciopelados o flores en prendas con técnicas de drapeado. Todo esto para dar como resultado, una propuesta extra femenina equilibrada con elementos como las rayas o los cuadros.

One of my favorite moments of NYFW! I loved this collection in which Wes Gordon included the iconic white shirt and stunning dresses but gave them his personal stamp by adding textures, color, freshness and movement with prints such as velvety polka dots or flowers on garments with draping techniques. All this to result in an extra feminine proposal balanced with elements such as stripes and squares.

Algunos eventos abiertos al público en NYFW

¡Hola, mis amores! No saben los feliz y emocionada que estoy de que otra vez sea NYFW. Amo esta época en la que los amantes de la moda nos reunimos en Nueva York para conocer las nuevas tendencias y colecciones. Hoy literalmente me he dedicado a ser multitask y en un ratito libre les escribí este post con algunos de los eventos centrados en la moda y estilo de vida que están abiertos al público. Se me hicieron grandes opciones para quienes tienen tiempo entre pasarelas o para todos los que estén de paseo por la Gran Manzana. ¡Espero que les guste!

Hi my loves! I’m very happy and excited to go to NYFW. I love this time of year when fashion lovers meet in New York City to witness all the new trends and collections. COACH INTERACTIVE POP-UP SHOP

¿Qué es? Una tienda experimental con items vintage y nuevos inspirados en sus archivos de varias décadas atrás. Como parte de la experiencia, la marca está lanzando Coach Rented, donde por primera vez los clientes podrán alquilar una bolsa de temporadas anteriores.

What is it? An experimental store with vintage and new items inspired by its archives from several decades ago. The items are created in collaboration with Sarah Andelman, founder of the creative agency Just An Idea and former creative director of Colette. As part of the experience, the brand is launching Coach Rented, where for the first time customers can rent a bag from previous seasons.

MAGNUM X SAKS FIFTH AVENUE DIPPING BAR

What is it? A stand where you can make your own icicles, ice cream and also add toppings such as Belgian milk, dark or white chocolate, caramel pearls and even confetti. YUM!

KATE SPADE NEW YORK ELIZABETH STREET GARDEN PARTY

5 estilos de bolsas que hemos visto en todos lados este año

¡Feliz martes, mis amores! Hay bolsas que simplemente son irresistibles y se vuelven el objeto del deseo desde el momento en el que las vemos en la pasarela. Todavía me acuerdo que mi primera bolsa de culto fue la 2.55 handbag creada por Gabrielle Chanel y reinterpretada por Karl Lagerfeld. Este año, existen cinco específicamente que hemos visto en todas partes, que se renuevan esta nueva temporada y que sin duda son de mis favoritas.

Happy Tuesday, my loves! There are bags that are simply irresistible and become the object of desire from the moment we see them on the runway. I still remember that my first cult bag was the .55 handbag created by Gabrielle Chanel and reinterpreted by Karl Lagerfeld. This year, there are five specifically that we have seen everywhere, which are renewed this new season and which are undoubtedly some of my favorites.

Chloé C Bag

Todas las temporadas, inevitablemente emerge una nueva It Bag, por lo general en el mes posterior a las diferentes semanas de la moda en Nueva York, Londres, París y Milán. Casi siempre una de ellas es firmada por Chloé. La marca ha tenido durante mucho tiempo una tribu dedicada de #chloegirls, que publican sus accesorios en Instagram y el diseño de bolsas versátiles es un legado que la directora creativa Natacha Ramsay-Levi ha retomado donde dejó Clare Waight Keller y la Chloé C Bag es una excelente prueba de ello. Almost every season, a new It Bag inevitably emerges, usually following the fashion month. One of them usually a Chloé bag. This brand has long had a dedicated tribe of #chloegirls, who post their accessories on Instagram and the design of versatile bags is a legacy that creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi has picked up where Clare Waight Keller left off and the Chloé C Bag is an excellent proof of that. I love that there are different but bold versions that come in different shades and sizes.

Este 2019 era imposible no incluir en esta lista uno o varios clutches. Diseñada por Daniel Lee el director creativo de Bottega Veneta, The Pouch es la favorita de celebridades como Rosie Huntington-Whiteley y para tenerla es necesario apuntarse (literalmente) en lista de espera.

Los 'beauty mistakes' que te suman años (y cómo evitarlos)

¡Hola, mis amores! Mi semana estuvo llena de eventos increíbles y por lo mismo tuve que maquillarme más de una vez. En una de esas tardes mientras me arreglaba, descubrí que el maquillaje puede ser tu mejor aliado o el peor (literalmente). Escoger los productos correctos puede ayudar a definir las facciones, disimular imperfecciones e incluso ayudarte a ver menos cansada. Por otra parte, el uso incorrecto de este puede sumar años y maltratar la piel. En base a eso les hice este post con algunos errores de makeup que todas podemos cometer por andar de prisa o por no escoger bien nuestros beauty items. ¡Espero que les sirva para detectarlos y evitarlos!

Hi my loves! My week was full of amazing events and for that reason I had to get ready and put on makeup more than once. On one of those afternoons I discovered that makeup can be your best ally or the worst (literally). Choosing the right beauty products can help you hide imperfections and you can even achieve to look less tired after a long week. On the other hand, the incorrect use of it can make you look older or even damage your skin. Based on this I made this post with some makeup mistakes that we can all make if we are always in a hurry or if we don’t choose the right products.. I hope you find it useful and avoid them!

1. Labios demasiado oscuros.

Conforme pasan los años, los labios pierden definición y volumen. El color oscuro en ellos puede hacer que se vean mucho más delgados. Si mueren por usar ese tono, les recomiendo usar algo de brillo o gloss encima del color para darle textura y volumen.

Dark colors on the lips: Throughout the years, our lips lose definition and volume. Dark color on your lips can make them look much thinner. If you are dying to wear a specific dark tone, wear some lipgloss on top to give your lips some artificial volume.

2. Exceso de delineador.

Al delinear los ojos por dentro y en el párpado superior e inferior, es probable que los ojos se vean mucho más chicos. Usar el delineado únicamente en el párpado superior, puede ayudar a alargar y levantar el ojo.

When you use eyeliner on the upper and lower eyelids, you are just making them seem smaller. Use the eyeliner on the upper eyelid, this will help you to make your eye look bigger and lift it up.

3. Usar base de otro tono de piel.

Este es un error súper común. Cuando compren su base dr maquillaje, lo ideal es probar el tono directo sobre la cara o el cuello, nunca en la mano y difuminar para evitar plastas.

It is a big mistake (and a common one) to wear a foundation that doesn’t match your skin tone. When you choose it, try it on directly in your face, not in your hand. Don’t forget to blur it perfectly with your neck and your ears.

4. Aplicar mal el blush.

El truco para hacerlo bien es muy sencillo: solo es verse al espejo y sonreír. En el espacio en el que se forman los pómulos es el lugar ideal para el blush. Si lo usan muy abajo, darán la impresión de un pómulo caído.

Apply blush: look at yourself in the mirror. When you smile, focus on where your cheekbones are and apply the blush. If you do it too low, you give the impression of a fallen cheekbone.

5. Olvidarse de las cejas y de las pestañas.

Deben definirlas, rellenarlas y añadirles color para que le den vida al beauty look. Las cejas despobladas y mal formadas, dan la impresión de sumar años. ¡Nunca olviden que son el marco de la cara!

Define the eyebrows. You must define them, fill them and add color so that they bring life back to tour whole face. Poorly shaped eyebrows give the impression of adding years and not defining the contour of your face.
